Bleach

I normally don't like regular TV anime shows, but Bleach kicks ass! The story is good, very mystical, yet you can identify with the characters somewhat. Its also really funny.

I don't know. I got the first two discs from netflix, and I was disappointed. It had that sorta dumbed down hollow feeling.

Series one best of shoen jump. Lot better and more adult ordenated then Naruto. The storylines right now best with Soul Reapers.

Yeah, it's really great! The story line has more depth than some anime I've seen. Like Bobobo... OMG... the one of the worst things I've seen.

I will agree to that, though the series is just beginning to pick up. Good show, Bleach is.

Bleach is one of those shows that just gets better as it goes on. By the time they get to the Soul Society it just kicks all kinds of ass. And I have it on good authority that it just gets better.

Bleach and Naruto probably have the largest fan bases out of any show aired on Cartoon Network right now. The fans have been cosplaying Bleach for a couple years now that I can tell. I attended a panel at Animazement last year featuring one of the Japanese voice actors for Bleach. Unlike in Naruto, the anime series has not yet passed the manga publication so if you find you can't wait for the next episode to come out, I suggest a visit to Borders.

Not that I'm trying to promote Borders, but if you sign up for their Borders Rewards & e-mail, they'll send you some coupons that vary in how much percent to take off a book (most of the ones I get are 10-20% off 1 book). So if you buy a lot of manga and keep using the coupons you'll save quite a bit of cash. But that's just how I do it. I prefer that to online buying since I can actually look through the book before I read it and decide if it's worth my money or not.

If you are interested in coupons, look up WOW coupons and click on the link for retail coupons. These are valid coupons that are sometimes better, sometimes exactly the same as the emails from Borders. They also have coupons for Barnes and Noble and other retail stores.

I wish they would play it during the day. Not at 12 am!

I can't stand the English dub of Bleach episodes on Cartoon Network. I prefer it in Japanese. Anyway, why are there more fillers? I WANT EPISODE 132 to show Ichigo kicking soome ass! argh.

    Heres my little Bleach review:

    PLOT:

The world of Bleach: The "real world" in Bleach is just like ours, but there is also a (not at all perfect or heaven-like) "Soul Society" where souls go after they die. If the souls do linger around the Real World too long they are often attacked by Hollows (bad monstery type spirits), or they transform into Hollows themselves. In the Soul Society, the more powerful souls can become Shinigami/Death Gods, which are arranged as a military. Their main function is to fight Hollows. However, we soon find out that some powerful and high ranking Shinigami have become traitors, and a) Want to combine Shinigami and Hollow powers and b) Want to take over the worlds (of course).

The main characters are Ichigo, a 15 year old who has (long story, dont ask) gotten the powers of a Shinigami and Hollow, and his friends.

    MY OPINION:

The beginning of the anime is mid-level. There are some interesting moments, but also some extreme suspension of disbelief (of the "Oh, I got bitten by a radioactive spider and now I can shoot web out of my wrists" type). In fact, I almost stopped watching after an episode that included Flower Fairy Princess Magic Barettes (ok, so thats MY term for it, not theirs....but still.)

Then it gets really good when Ichigo and friends break into the Soul Society to rescue their friend.

Then it gets really boring for a 45-episodes-long filler arc.

Then it gets really good again.

I do really recommend this show, because, for the most part, it rocks. But I also recommend just skipping the Bount Arc, except maybe watch the last couple episodes of it just to see where they are at.

Something silly: Late in the series, everyone suddenly starts doing their battles standing in the air....wtf?

Something cool: Some really good opening/closing songs

What I like: Bleach has a HUGE amount of REALLY great characters. Even the more minor characters are pretty well fleshed out.

What I dislike: Everything is always done just in the nick of time. Every other person they meet has at least enough spirit power to be able to see souls

Hey, interesting. I'm still watching the rescue series and so far, it's been a lot of fun. Maybe I can skip the filler piece and get to the good stuff again.. ha. There are some weird episodes.. I just saw one about the kids where they get together with this weird dude that fights the hollows with them (no ichigo). It actually seemed to belong to another (silly-er) anime series. Anyway, I've enjoyed it so far.

I thought most the filler episodes were cute. It was the overly long filler Bount arc that annoyed me.

I love Bleach. After adult swim finished I am starting to read the manga. Bleach does get better as it goes on. The list of characters is huge and I really like that.

Although in the manga in the beginning they don't dumb is down so much and develop the characters better. In the show they have poor character development but start to progress towards the unfinished English version.

Nothing has really happened in like the past three episodes or so. I am rather disappointed. The Hueco Mundo arc is proving to be rather bleh. I don't think I am going to drop it, but it is no longer one of my faves. As much as I like the exciting times (Rescuing Rukia, the first conflicts with Espada and meeting the vizards, and I actually enjoyed some of the filler eps), the majority of the show is not all that.

I was thinking the same thing today. I can't really drop the series because I've already invested so much time in it, and it use to be sooo good I'm hoping it will come back. But as of right now I'm over it.
