Re: Favorite Transformer
Wed, May 12, 2004 - 1:06 PMI would like to point out that my vote for "favorite transformer" came from the cartoon. My favorite toy was ... aw hell... see I don't remember his name. He was the one in the cartoon that had been a decepticon but got frozen in ice for a million years and when he came back out he hooked up with star scream since they were old pals but quickly realized they were no longer alike, so the frozen guy became an autobot.. he was a big jet. can't remember his name :P -

the transformer you are referring to would be Skyfire (if you go by the shows nomenclature) or possibly jetfire (which would be hasbros choice for the name. not sure why they were different tho.)
as for me, well...theres a reason I chose the name DJ Soundwave when i started spinning records. ;^) -

Re: Favorite Transformer
Thu, May 13, 2004 - 9:00 AMJetfire was a white and red autobot jet, almost identical to the Robotech Vakerie. Also my choice for favorite, with Soundwave being a close second. My first transformer was TrailBlazer, however. -

Re: Favorite Transformer
Thu, May 13, 2004 - 11:21 AMaccording to this page:
www.geocities.com/Area51/St...yfire.html
Jetfire's toy was *exactly* the same as the Robotech Valkryie.
"Specifically, Jetfire the toy is identical to the VF-1S Super Valkyrie (VF-1S Super Veritech). The Battletech Phoenix Hawk also appears to be based on the same toy."
for the uninitiated/nostalgesque, here's a few pics:

Thu, May 13, 2004 - 11:56 AMFASA (maker of Battletech) was sued and lost over their mech designs from the parent comapnay of Macross. Those who played Battletech would realize all the human mechs from Macross were in battle and it includes some Zentradi as well.

Re: Favorite Transformer
Thu, May 13, 2004 - 11:24 AMi remember star scream was very hard to come by. I found him once in some random store in perfect condition etc. and didn't have the money to buy it. Totally guilt tripped my mom to try to get it.
Didn't work.
I also remember that Devastator was only neat if you had all of them and kept them in the robot mode. I mean, who cares about dump trucks and back hoes? ;) XD

Re: Favorite Transformer
Tue, May 18, 2004 - 5:55 AMSoundwave was the best charector and Arcee was the next best. Soundwave was the loyal second to Megatron while Arcee began to later care for Daniel. the rest kind of lacked any real personallity except for starscream and his high voice just gets on your nerves and devastator has about the brains of the dinobots. however you can't get soundwave or Arcee toys they aren't making them anymore. what gives?

Re: Favorite Transformer
Tue, May 18, 2004 - 12:39 PMSoundwave was the best *lowers monotone voice half octive* of the Autobot/Decepticon lot.
However, mad props to prime for just being an all around hero. I still get shivers when I think about the sound of his gun going off. I mean who else had such a cool sound effect for firing thier gun?

Re: Favorite Transformer
Sat, May 22, 2004 - 12:29 AMSkullGrin reminds me of those roll-backs that would flip open into robot form and be (about half the time) standing upright. Does anyone remember what those were called...I had one, but damn that was a long time ago. -

Re: Favorite Transformer
Sat, May 22, 2004 - 5:51 AMI remember them. They had a paor of Transformers that did that too, and they were an aweful hospital scrub/seafoam green kind of color. I don't remember what the other, smaller ones were called though. I do remember them.

Re: Favorite Transformer
Sat, May 22, 2004 - 12:45 PMthe flippy-uppy autobot "Autochangers" were 2 futuristic hover cars. they were known as topspin and twintwist. I remember the decepticon ones, but they were so late in the game that I dont remember the names. and for he record I think skullgrin and the other one there were "g2" transformers, and therefore didnt really get much airtime in the cartoon.

Re: Favorite Transformer
Sat, June 5, 2004 - 4:04 PMHe was my first and my favorite, Starscream. If not for that reason but also because he's the only person I know who can try to murder the boss and gets off the hook simply by crawling on his knees screaming, "Megatron, Megatron!" Oh, and he had the voice talent of Chris Latta (RIP) backing him up as well as Cobra Commander.
